Get ready, get set, get costumed! A Surreal Experience: the Art of Bill Lawson opens Friday, October 10 with a costume party from 6 to 10 p.m. Come dressed as an object or character from a work of art or book. The possibilities are endless. The Ghost of Christmas past from Dickens, perhaps, or Nike, the Goddess of Victory from Greek sculpture, or a vase of flowers from the Dutch Renaissance painters…I can’t wait to see!

There will be prizes for Best Costume in three different categories. (Judging will take place at 8 p.m.) Prizes include gift certificates from Arbor Ridge Vine and Grill, Irish Rover, and Little Colonel Playhouse.

And….

How well do you look at the art of Gallery 104? We’ll see with our first scavenger hunt. So hone those observational skills. The winner of the hunt also gets a prize. (Scavenger hunt will be ongoing throughout the evening with winner announced at the end of the event)

Of course, there will be wine available (AAOC members pay only $2 a glass) and wonderful appetizers, live music and great artwork.
